Aberdeen International Curling Championship 2018

After last seasons successful tournament the Aberdeen International Curling Championship is back again this season, being played between 15th - 18th March 2018,so save that date!  The format being a Triple Knockout. Entry forms will be available soon.


2017 Aberdeen International Champions are Team Hardie! Well done to the Scottish rink who defeated the Chinese national team in the final.

Semi Final

The Semi's saw McEwen v Hardie and Rui v Schwaller. Team Hardie & Team McEwen gave each other a really good game. Hardie took the win with a double in the 6th to lie 3 and win the game 6-2. The video of the shot that won the game can be found here. Team Rui defeated Schwaller to make the final. Both teams have came through the C Road.

Quarter Finals

We are now in the money making part of the competition for these teams.

McEwen (Can) v Kauste (Fin)
Schwaller (Sui) v Murdoch (Sco)
Rui (China) v Eskilsson (Swe)
Hardie(Sco) v Deruelle (Can)

Hardie Defeats Deruelle 6-2 after 6 ends, he stole a 2 in the first which sets them up for the rest of the game. Schwaller defeats last years winners and current Scottish Champions Team Murdoch. Rui beats Eskilsson and McEwen completes the line up in the semi's with a win over Kauste.

The semi's are Hardie v McEwen and Rui v Schwaller, three C road qualifiers and an A road in the Semi. Semi final on at 12pm.


Again some excellent curling on show and a few big results. Team Brewster were knockout the C road by Wunderer in the early morning game. Wunderer carried on in the competition but came up against Stjerne in the next round of C road games, Stjerne came out strong and took a 6 in the first end, that's was game over already.  The 4.30pm session in the C Road saw Hardie play Shuster (Team USA). Hardie came out victorious running Shuster out of stones in the 8th. The same session saw Whyte v Ulsrud, this ended with an extra end and a win for Team Whyte, knocking Ulsrud out of the competition before the playoffs.

7.30pm saw C Road Final happen with Rui v Ramsfjell, Hardie v Stjerne, Whyte v Schwaller and Stukalskiy v Kauste.  Winners from these game went into the playoffs Sunday morning 9am. Rui, Hardie, Schwaller and Kauste all booked their places at 9 o'clock.

Today So Far

Today has seen the young team from Forfar Team Craik beat last years World Junior Champions, this year's Scottish Men's runners up & Uni Game Gold Medalist Team Mouat, They are currently facing the World Silver medalist from last year Rasmus Stjerne. Team Hardie beat Team Brewster in great game of curling. Team Murdoch took a win in their first game in the competition against Team China, the Skip finishing the game with half a brush, having slammed his brush so hard it broke in two.
